2014 Chalk Hill Chairman's Club Zinfandel, Russian River Valley
Winemaker Notes
This 2014 Zinfandel opens with aromas of
raspberry, wild blackberry, dried oregano, black pepper and dark chocolate
on the nose. It is complex, deep and and yet vibrant with bright raspberry
and fresh dark berry fruit flavors on the forefront that meld beautifully
together with savory herbaceous notes.

Production Notes
2014 was a prime year, giving us wines of both finesse and concentration.
We brought in a bountiful crop of very tasty fruit. Zinfandel is notorious for
being uneven in the vineyard, with green pips, ripe berries and raisins on the
same bunch. This vineyard produces absolutely beautiful fruit with virtually
no green or raisined grapes.
Vineyard Notes
This is the third vintage of our Russian River Valley Zinfandel. The grapes come from our
Trenton Road vineyard, in the heart of the Russian River Valley. Primarily
planted with Pinot Noir, there is one small block on a west-facing hillside
that is tailor-made for Zinfandel, the Lions Ridge West Block.
